Playthrough 2 would have felt more repetitive if I hadn't done all the missions first game and almost fully leveled with great weapons to 50 by the time I was a third of the way through it. I beat it the second time in two nights, where as the first time took much much longer. It went so fast I barely noticed. Yeah for sure.
